SCENE: In July, when Congress was still in session, Rep. Glenn Grothman had just voted on the floor of the US House of Representatives when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo started chatting the congressman up while walking back to his office across the street from the US Capitol.
Matt Laslo: “Hey, how are you sir?”
Glenn Grothman: “Fine.”
ML: “Do you know what's up with your Safe Airspace for Americans Act?”
Curious: Doesn’t seem the bipartisan measure has been introduced in this new, 119th Congress

GG: “Umm — what do you think?”
ML: “What’s that?”
GG: “Why are you asking?”
ML: “Just curious if there’s any movement? Any bills coming up that you can see attaching it to?”
Grothman stares ahead and says nothing.
ML: “Or is the problem solved?”
GG: “No, I don’t think the problem’s solved.”
ML: “Yeah?”
GG: “I’ll a — call my office.”
ML: “Yeah? But no update on it?”
GG: “No.”
ML: “Is it still a priority?”
GG: “Well, we want to get it done.”
ML: “Yeah?”
GG: “I don’t know if it’s a priority, but we’d like to, maybe, attach it to something.”

GG: “Could be. That would be an ideal place.”
ML: “Yeah? But not going to be for a while?”
Grothman shakes head no.
ML: “Have you — any reason why the UAP issue hasn’t really come up this Congress? And there hasn’t been public hearings yet?”
GG: “I think they had one, didn’t they?”
ML: “What’s that?”
GG: “They had one, didn’t they?”
ML: “Not this year. It was last year at the end.”
