Who?
Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) — Member, Congressional UAP Caucus
LISTEN: Laslo & Ogles
Ask a Pol asked:
In the 118th Congress, UAP was a hot topic on Capitol Hill — hot enough for Ask a Pol UAP founder Matt Laslo to ask all 100 US Senators about it… — but now, eight months in, the mood surrounding UAP feels different in this 119th Congress. Have you sensed that?
Key Ogles:
“We've had so much going on with the agenda and whatnot that — it's not taking a back seat, but it's just — it's a slow process,” Rep. Andy Ogles exclusively tells Ask a Pol UAPs. “It’s everybody's trying to manage the calendar, if nothing else.”
Newly minted Oversight Committee Ranking Member Robert Garcia (D-CA) — who was top Dem on the Secrets Task Force — says the sluggish pace of this year’s UAP investigation makes it feel like a top down command from GOP leadership?
“I haven't sensed that at all,” Ogles says.

“I've been so tied up with my committees,” Ogles tells Ask a Pol UAP.*
*Ogles serves on the House Financial Services and Homeland Security Committees, though he’s also been an active member of the Congressional UAP Caucus.
While Ogles is not on the Oversight Committee — which is leading the ongoing UAP investigation in the House of Representatives — he’s been allowed to participate in public UAP hearings and classified SCIF briefings.
Below find a rough transcript of Ask a Pol’s exclusive interview with Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN), slightly edited for clarity.
TRANSCRIPT: Rep. Andy Ogles (7-23-2025)
SCENE: Rep. Andy Ogles and a handful of other lawmakers are making their way to a vote in the US Capitol via an underground tunnel when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo picks Ogles off from the pack for this exclusive.
Matt Laslo: “Did you hear about this firing of Tim Phillips by ODNI [Office of Director of National Intelligence]? The former AARO guy?”
Andy Ogles: “Generally.”
ICYMI — PSA to Congress: This is what we keep asking you about (to no avail…). Please, read.

ML: “He's been out doing a lot of media and I guess [Rep. Eric] Burlison’s looking into it.”
Ogles shrugs, Laslo changes topic…

ML: “Like, this session of Congress. Does it feel like there's a new mood, attitude around the UAP topic?”
They enter an elevator.
AO: “Uhh — yeah, I've been so tied up with my committees.”
ML: “Yeah?”
AO: “I'm not on Oversight, so I was weighed down but yeah, I'm not — you know, Luna was obviously very vocal about it and I guess Burlison’s running point?”
ML: “Kinda Luna, but he's active too.”
AO: “So but I mean, I think we've had so much going on with the agenda and whatnot that — it's not taking a back seat — but it's just, it's a slow process.”
ML: “Yeah?”
AO: “It’s everybody's trying to manage the calendar, if nothing else.”
ML: “Congressman [Robert] Garcia says it feels like it's top down, like it comes from GOP leadership not….”
AO: “I haven't sensed that at all.”
ML: “Yeah?”
AO: “Um, but I think it's an issue of scheduling where there's been a couple of briefings that I wanted to go to, I just couldn't physically get to, right?”
ML: “Yeah?”
AO: “So that slows everything down.”
ML: “So do you think – so we'll probably be seeing more in September when you guys are back?”
AO: “I hope so. I mean, it's something I'm genuinely interested in, so to be determined.”
ML: “I'll be watchin. Appreciate ya man. Have a good break if I don't see you.”
AO: “Yeah, absolutely.”
ML: “Cheers.”
