SCENE: Last month, Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo caught up with HASC Ranking Member Adam Smith as the congressman was walking from the US Capitol to the House Office Buildings across the street.

Matt Laslo: “Have you, in this year’s NDAA talks, have you heard anything about [Senate Minority Leader Chuck] Schumer’s UAPDA amendment — UAP Disclosure Act?”

Adam Smith: “No. I know he’s worked the issue.”

PROGRESS? Ask a Pol’s last conversation with Smith…

ML: “Yeah?”

AS: “I have not heard anything about it.”

ML: “Well, cause it seems like in years past…’

Smith holds up his phone.

AS: “Yeah, I’ve gotta take this.”

ML: “You got a day job.”

AS: “I haven’t heard about it, so…”

ML: “Cool.”

Smith takes call.

ML: “Thank you!”
