SCENE: House Armed Services Committee — aka, HASC — Chair Mike Rogers is walking down the Capitol steps after voting on the House floor when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo catches up with him…
Matt Laslo: “Hey Chairman Rogers.”
Rogers turns around on the Capitol’s steps.
ML: “How are you?”
Mike Rogers: “I’m good. How are you?”
ML: “Livin the dream.”
Rogers laughs.
MR: “It's a bad dream, but you’re living it!”

MR: “Nuh-uh. I haven't heard anything about it.”
ML: “No?”
MR: “Nuh-uh.”
ML: “The past few years there's been a mystery over who gutted it and there's been some finger pointing over here, maybe [fmr. HPSCI Chair] Mike Turner — but it hasn't come up this time?”
MR: “No, I haven't heard anything about it this time. Doesn't mean it won't, but I haven't heard it yet.”
