SCENE: Rep. Jim Himes rushes to catch an elevator just off the floor of the US House of Representatives when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo grabs his attention — if begrudgingly so… — and then proceeds to hop on an elevator with the HPSCI Ranking Member.
Matt Laslo: “Hey congressman.”
Jim Himes: “Hey! How are ya?”
Matt Laslo: “Living the dream.”
Himes laughs.
ML: “Are you aware of this UFO/ UAP…?”
JH: “Oh, come on!”
ML: “…task force within the FBI?”
JH: “No, I'm not.”

JH: “No, I'm not.”
ML: “They just, the FBI just gave a briefing…”
JH: “Oh really?”
ML: “...this unit, to the UAP Caucus / Secrets Task Force. And they said it was actually more illuminating than AARO. They were more open, and they had footage that AARO has never seen.”
JH: “You think they had access to Defense Department compartmented programs?”
Laslo shrugs.
JH: “Yeah. So obviously I can't comment, because I don't know a thing about it.”
ML: “Yeah?”
JH: “It's interesting, because the FBI was in front of the committee yesterday [Thursday, 6-5-2025) asking for their intel budget, but I'll read up on it.”
ML: “And this issue didn't come up?”
JH: “It did not come up, no.”
ML: “Figures. Thank you, sir.”
JH: “You're the only guy who really brings it up.”
Himes exits elevator.
ML: “I know, sir.”
Laslo stays on elevator to go back up to the House floor.
ML: “Sorry, not sorry!”
Laslo laughs.
