Who?
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) — Chair, Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets
LISTEN: Laslo & Luna
Ask a Pol asks:
Did you see that Wall Street Journal article?
Key Luna:
“No,” Rep. Anna Paulina Luna exclusively tells Ask a Pol.

“Is it the one that said that the Pentagon is responsible for the fake UFO campaign?” Luna inquires. “Yeah. I think that's bullsh*t.”
Caught our ear:
Does this change the direction of where you wanna go with the next public hearing?
“No,” Luna says.
No? Any expectation on when that might be?
“Yeah, we're actually working on getting the dates for that,” Luna tells us. “We're thinking after the July 4th weekend.”
Below find two rough transcripts of Ask a Pol’s interviews with Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), slightly edited for clarity.
TRANSCRIPT: Chair Anna Paulina Luna
SCENE: Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo is heading back to the Capitol steps after interviewing another lawmaker when he sees Secrets Task Force Chair Anna Paulina Luna, so he moves over to her side of the street.
Moments after they start chatting, a Capitol Police officer passes the congresswoman on a motorcycle…on the sidewalk…
Anna Paulina Luna: “How’s it going?”
Matt Laslo: “How are you, ma'am?”*
*Ask a Pol sounds louder cause our mic was closer to us…but tie goes to the congresswoman…so we owe her coke…
ML: “Did you see that Wall Street Journal article?”
d

APL: “No.”
ML: “You haven't seen it yet?”
APL: “Is it the one that said that the Pentagon is a…”
Laslo whispers: “There’s an officer...”
Laslo’s walking backwards and gently motions for the congresswoman to move over a tad as a Capitol Police officer on a motorcycle is riding up on the sidewalk in back of her.
APL: “…the Pentagon is responsible for the fake UFO campaign?”
Motorcycle cop passes (on the sidewalk, mind you).
ML: “Yeah.”
APL: “Yeah. I think that's bullshit.”
ML: “Yeah? I mean, especially based on what you guys heard at the FBI?”
APL: “So my thing is, is that I don't actually like the work that AARO has done. I think that AARO’s done a really terrible job.”
ML: “Yeah?”
APL: “And I think that there's other agencies that have done way better jobs and have been more transparent, and I think that we need to save money and AARO is a part of that problem. So…”
ML: “Oh, interesting.”*
*first time Ask a Pol remembers hearing argument to get rid of AARO as a part of GOP budget cuts…
APL: “Yeah.”

ML: “Because a lot of that seemed like it came from Kirkpatrick...”
APL: “Oh yeah…”
ML: “…and AARO.”
APL: “100%. I actually would completely disagree, and I think that they're, you know — based on the testimony and the evidence; videos and photos I've seen — I think that they're incorrect in their analysis, and I think that it's also pretty sad that they would try to gaslight millions of Americans.”
ML: “Yeah?”
APL: “So…”
ML: “Does this change the direction of where you wanna go…?”
APL: “No.”
ML: “…with the next public hearing?”
APL: “No.”
ML: “No? Any expectation on when that might be?”
APL: “Yeah, we're actually working on getting the dates for that, but we're thinking after the July 4th weekend.”
ML: “Oh, nice.”
APL: “Yeah.”
ML: “So before August?”*
*Washington technically was never a swamp (pre-lobbyists…), but it’s always bee humid as hell so Congress keeps the tradition of taking the entire month of August off annually…
APL: “Yeah, and there's some other stuff. Remember, we had our SCIF briefing. I'm trying to get some other members back into the SCIF.”
ML: “That's right. Yup.”
APL: “There were some people that were not there, that are a part of the task force that have asked to see the information to include some of the Democrats, so…”
ML: “Have you heard from any of those, like whistleblowers, since that article came out? Just…”
APL: “No.”
ML: “Cool, cool. I'll be watchin.”
Luna smirk-laughs.
ML: “You have a good one, ma'am.”
Laslo smirk-laughs.
Laslo: “Have a good one…”*
*to either Luna’s husband or aide…
If Luna is right, a massive psy op was carried out on the American public. If Aaro is right, a massive psy op was carried out on the military and American public.
Either way it stinks and we need prosecutions so that this doesn’t happen again.
If Musk is right, this is a really shitty simulation…
It’s the best of all possible worlds. There’s a thought, right?
Abbas mentioned similar sentiment on askapol chat yesterday, so hat tip to them for expressing what a lot of people were thinking first. 🎩🫡
Really good to hear her say that.
She did not mince words!
If Rep Luna can get AARO defunded would that gin up all the bullied whistle blowers? An easier get would just be to have DOGE audit them....
*Luna don’t even have subpoena power…
AARO’s charge under Kirkpatrick and Philips IMO was to discredit the work of AAWSAP and the UAPTF, and to be a flytrap for whistleblowers and witnesses. Look at the record. The public emergence of Grusch and later Nell greatly complicated matters and made that imperative. This is a well-coordinated effort (the WSJ with K and P in background) which comes at a time when pressure on the Legacy Program and its aerospace partners is mounting due to multiple vectors: increased activity by Congress (Luna/Burlison/Grusch, Rounds’ reintroduction of UAPDA), new whistleblowers coming forward (Matt Brown and potentially others), and especially interest by cyber actors and venture capital.
