Ask a Pol asks Mace:

I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but on social media folks are saying, ‘Mace and all them are lying’ — about the last time you had a hearing, the Immaculate Constellation program because there’s a new whistleblower Matthew Brown…?

Key Mace:

“I think I saw a clip of that. I haven't had a chance, I was like in 11 Cities over recess traveling,” Mace exclusively tells Ask a Pol. “Lying about what?”

Congresswoman Mace chaired the public UAP hearing on November 13, 2024 where she highlighted the Pentagon’s perviously classified Immaculate Constellation program.

ICYMI — Apologies for what Ask a Pol lost in translation

Apologies for accidentally — and falsely — putting words in the mouths of Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp in our latest exclusive with Secrets Task Force Chair Anna Paulina Luna. Should have stopped with “people online,” because we made it seem like they were accusing the UAP Caucus of being dishonest, when in reality, we were quoting people reacting to their latest breaking Immaculate Constellation reporting on Weaponized. — Prof. Laslo

Keep spreading the word, especially about our attempt to correct the record!

Caught our ear:

“I did see, there was a video and I got part of a clip,” Mace tells us. “But I've been traveling so haven’t had a chance to look at it or get briefed on it.”

Below find a rough transcript of Ask a Pol’s exclusive interview with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), slightly edited for clarity.

TRANSCRIPT: Rep. Nancy Mace (5-7-2025)

SCENE: After voting in the Capitol, Rep. Nancy Mace is walking back to her office when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo catches up with her and proceeds to stroll across the street with her.

After a few minutes of chatting on-the-record, Congresswoman Mace asks to go off-the-record, which Laslo grants for an extended period as they discussed an array of topics across the political and personal spectrum. Ask a Pol hasn’t had as much access to Mace as we’d have liked so far this new, 119th Congress, so it was important to get some casual face time with the increasingly powerful congresswoman.

Nancy Mace: “How are you, ma'am?”

Matt Laslo: “Good. How are you?”

ML: “Live in the dream.”

NM: “Yeah? I like that tie.”

ML: “I always get compliments on it.”

NM: “Well, it looks good. Floral’s good.”

ML: “And I was like, ‘I need compliments today.’

NM: “Why do you need compliments today?”

ML: “Because I have harder questions.”

Mace and Laslo laugh.

ML: “And I come from four generations of landscapers.”

Metal security barrier groans open as they walk across the Capitol grounds.

NM: “Oh, okay.”

ML: “I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but online folks are saying, ‘Mace and all them are lying’ about the last time you had a hearing, the Immaculate Constellation program...”

NM: “Lying about what?”

ML: “That there’s a new whistleblower…”

NM: “And why’s it coming up now?”

ML: “Because there’s a new whistleblower Matthew Brown.”

NM: “Okay. I think I saw a clip of that. I haven't had a chance, I was like in 11 Cities over recess traveling.”

Loud clanging security barriers — in desperate need of grease — keep squeaking up and down in background.

ML: “Yeah? Right?”

NM: “I was 11 cities in 14 days or something.”

ML: “That’s where I was like, ‘I don't think these lawmakers know about this.'“

CUTE PUP ALERT.

Mace: “Oh my god, look at that dog!”

ML: “…but that’s where I guess Jeremy Corbell he saying — and one other person, I think George Knapp — they’re saying this new whistleblower is the one who like confirmed it.”

Smiling intern approaches Mace.

INTERN: “Quick question. I’m in Charleston this summer…”

NM: “Oh my goodness!”

INTERN: “…where’s the restaurant to go to.”

NM: “Halls Chophouse on King St.”

INTERN: “I’m living on King St.!”

NM: “Oh yeah, go to Halls Chophouse. That’s where you want to go.”

INTERN: “Yeah? I have a list going…”

ML: “I’m taking notes.”

Laslo laughs, they keep exchanging South Carolina’s finest…

NM: “…there’s a bunch of rooftop bars…also, go to the champagne room at the Bennet Hotel — it’s all pink velvet.”

INTERN: “Oooh.”

ML: “Wait, I might bump into you there. Sounds cool.”

Mace laughs, intern leaves and then Mace turns back to Laslo.

NM: “I haven't. I have not seen the chatter.”

ML: “Yeah?”

NM: “I did see, there was a video and I got part of a clip, but, you know, I've been traveling so haven’t had a chance to look at it…”

ML: “Yeah? Totally, totally.”

NM: “…or get briefed or whatever, to see it.”

ML: “Well, I think what the complaint is is that you guys knew about this whistleblower and then dot dot dot — in the hearing…”

Mace motioning toward’s Laslo’s mic.

ML: “…because with a whistleblower, you’re not allowed to talk about it?”

NM: “Can we talk about it off-the-record without recording?”

Laslo grants her request…
