[David] Grusch could not make it, so we wanted to make sure that he was there for it. That's why we just paused it,” Rep. Anna Paulina Luna exclusively tells Ask a Pol.

Behind the scenes:

“[Director of National Intelligence] Tulsi [Gabbard] has been extremely helpful,” Luna says. “There's been a lot of good people that are pushing forward for this, and so we're happy about that.”

Below find a rough transcript of Ask a Pol’s exclusive interview with Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), slightly edited for clarity.

TRANSCRIPT: Rep. Anna Paulina Luna

SCENE: After voting on the House floor, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna exits the Capitol and speaks with a handful of reporters on the Capitol steps as Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo waits in the (shade…) wings.

Once she’s done, Laslo slides in and proceeds to walk across the street with her and her aides as they make their way back to her office.

Matt Laslo: “What happened with today's SCIF briefing?”

Anna Paulina Luna: “So there — [David] Grusch could not make it, so we wanted to make sure that he was there for it.”

ML: “Yeah.”

APL: “That's why we just paused it, but the rest of it is still sticking true to timeline, so — but we’re happy to have Grusch. You know that he's one of our — he’s a great advisor for [Rep. Eric] Burlison…”

Luna ever so briefly goes on background and then laughs.

ML: “Has the umm — do you feel like you guys do have better direction?”

APL: “Yeah, 100%.”

ML: “Better questions?”

APL: “Yup 100%. Having him on board is really helpful, and then also too having a transparent government. Tulsi [Gabbard] has been extremely helpful. There's been a lot of good people that are pushing forward for this, and so we're happy about that.”

ML: “Is Miss Gabbard — are you guys working with the administration, her and others, on disclosure?”

APL: “So she’s — I would say, she's all things point on these issues. But we've also had a lot of good response from the appointees. And so what I will tell you is it actually is helpful, there's a noticeable difference — I think, not just with other Republican administrations but also Democrat administrations — that the level of transparency that this administration is pushing for is unprecedented. We're very happy about it.”

ML: “And like when it comes to disclosure — cause we've seen at least some files, but nothing UAP related — is that…”

APL: “Well, I think it's important for people to note that, when ever in US history have you had government actually admitting and or pushing for transparency, bicameral, bipartisan, where you've had the level of support from various intelligence agencies on it? Granted, I know people are frustrated, they're like, ‘well, when are we gonna see a smoking gun?’ But I mean, the [National] Archives actually just put the declassified button up to where people can look through it themselves — all things UAP — and there's stuff that came out of that that I thought was pretty cool…”

“The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has established an ‘‘Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Records Collection," per sections 1841–1843 of the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (Public Law 118-31) (NDAA).” Source: NARA.

APL: “I mean, you saw some of those photos and whatnot.”

ML: “Yeah.”

APL: “So definitely something that we're still pursuing. Obviously, we have a lot going on dealing with budget, etc…”

ML: “Yeah?”

APL: “…but we're not forgetting about it, and we're still happy to help lead the charge. Burchett also too — both Burlison and Burchett are helping leading up point on this, and I'm very happy to have their direction on it.”

ML: “And so this timeline, it kind of felt like the beginning of the year there was nothing, but you guys have been working in the background?”

APL: “Oh, we’ve been 100%, yeah. We had meetings with Grusch last session. We got everything lined up, organized the SCIF briefings, we have the timeline set for the actual round table that's on Thursday. You should be at that.”

ML: “Yeah.”

APL: “And then also too we have an actual hearing, and then we have whistleblowers too. So you guys might not see it all happening, because we just don't have time, frankly, so — enough hours in the day — to put it all out there, but it's happening for sure.”

ML: “And do you guys know the witnesses yet?”

APL: “I can't tell you about the witnesses.”

ML: “Cool.”

APL: “But thank you.”

ML: “That's my job. I gotta ask.”

APL: “No worries.”

ML: “Preciate ya.”
