Congress shouldn’t be leaving this in the hands of the executive branch. They should be asserting their own Constitutional authority over the military and all matters of classification. Congress, not the executive branch, should be appointing an independent panel to investigate, collate and report back to Congress.
It sure didn’t occur to the Founders that members of Congress would willingly walk away from exercising their duly authorized powers. But maybe that’s because “self-interest” has been recalibrated to mean only financial gain. They collect their 💰and that’s it.
Have you seen Bryce Zabel and Brent Freidman's podcast Sound, Light, & Frequency? Those guys are very very close to a pathway to disclosure with that podcast. The two created NBC's series Dark Skies and the podcast postulates on whether the government has placed uap info into entertainment ip.
I can tell you the answer is a great big YES, and the truth is spread across dozens of tv shows, movies, and public spectacles.

Also, I'm a former US Navy officer and I've done some writing that has been placed in various ip's. My effort was designed to help those targeted in harassment and discrediting schemes. The Justice Department's "Operation Fox Hunt" case describes how nation-states do those types of crimes. The press conferences for that case are online. Likewise, Ronan Farrow's articles on the Harvey Weinstein case describes how individuals hire out those services on contract. It's a huge problem in Hollywood and in Washington D.C.
